Offensive Crayons

Say goodbye to your politically correct old color box and welcome this family of blunt, direct and irreverent shades.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

You're welcome and we're sorry?

Congratulations! You got your crayons. This is the happiest day of your life, paled only by the birth of your child, your wedding, and the death of your mother-in-law. And although we're frustrated that the tiny hands of 8 year old Chinese children printed the crayon names diagonally, or fumbled the wrapping, I guess that's just a risk we didn't consider when we went with an overseas manufacturer. (On a serious note, we're contacting the manufacturer because it's a little absurd for a company that specializes in crayons to screw up as much as they did on some packs.)

In honor of the #metoo campaign, many of you received 2 Fabricated Rape Red crayons, just to remind you twice that lying about sexual assault is doubly terrible. And in the spirit of Columbus Day, our original color "feather not dot", was accidentally left out of some boxes, as is expected since most indigenous people are forgotten about.

To those with product/shipping concerns: we'll be either emailing or private messaging you to discuss. We would also love to hear your thoughts on the crayons and the coloring book!

We think this is under control

It's official, as of right now we have shipped out 90% of orders, both domestic and international! If you haven't gotten your crayons, just wait a few more days...then wait a few more (and maybe a few extra for good luck?). Amazingly, only 23 of you have decided not to fill out your Backerkit survey, and only one has a declined credit card.

We'd pat ourselves on the back, but let's be honest, we didn't realize international manufacturing and distribution would be harder than we thought.

Also, 324 of you should now have a link to download the digital coloring book. We're sorry, keep your expectations low.

What's the next step? For now we've set up a website for anyone who wants to place an order, and we're talking to Amazon about getting set up on their platform. We'll let you know as soon as that happens, and provide a discount code for our past Kickstarter supporters.

What about the holiday pack? We're working on it. Unfortunately most crayon companies have a minimum order quanitity of 10,000 sets. We were lucky to work with one manufacturer that allowed us to create a quanitiy of 3k, contingent that they ran our production with a larger order. Basically we have to wait until they do another run, otherwise I'll have 10,000 packs of holiday crayons sitting in a Florida storage facility mid April.

Need to update your Backerkit survey?
over 6 years ago – Mon, Sep 11, 2017 at 08:07:26 PM

As many of you may have noticed, we accidentally locked down the Backerkit surveys prematurely. (It's the internet equivalent of ejaculating too quickly and not having your tissues/sock ready.)

If you need to update your shipping address or quantity of boxes, please message us and we'll unlock your survey so you can make any necessary changes. And as a reminder, the boxes arrive in our shipping facility on September 20th.

Update: They're on their way...
over 6 years ago – Sun, Sep 10, 2017 at 01:33:54 AM

Huzzah! We're at the home stretch. The ETA we've received from customs is that the crayons will be at our distribution facility on September 20th. From there, we're shipping everything to you from Florida (assuming the distribution facility is still there). Don't worry, we've doing our part to help-- we've donated a dozen fans to locals to point in the direction of the oncoming hurricane.

To date, you guys have ordered 971 packages of crayons. We're still not sure what we're going to do with the remaining 2,000 packages. Maybe we'll melt them down and sell them on the elusive crayon-sex toy market.
